NewHoRRIzon is a project that aims at further integrating Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in the research and innovation systems on national and international levels. Secure Societies is one of the project’s nineteen Social Labs were security related issues are tackled. This workshop brought together 15 participants from the government, the education sector, the industry, from funding agencies and from research and academic institutions. The activity was hosted by the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, in the context of the EU-funded research Action “Excellence in science and innovation for Europe by adopting the concept of Responsible Research and Innovation”.

EDGE participated to share its RRI experience in the field of security research, with respect to the ongoing SPHINX Action activities. Cross-fertilisation activities are a fundamental part of the dissemination of SPHINX’s Research and Innovation Action, as well as its exploitation efforts, framed in the Action’s dissemination and communication plan and serving the SPHINX’s purposes of building awareness, promoting networking and fostering engagement prospects.
