Accelerating Digital Policy integration in Health Sector in Greece

The third annual greek conference for Informatics and e-Health, HeathIT 2020, was held online and elaborated on strengthening e-Government strategy, e-Health practices and the National Framework for interoperability among healthcare providers. The main focus was put on issues of strengthening Administrative Informatics and Quality Assurance. During the conference, IT executives from hospitals & health districts presented new projects that help upgrade digital transformation.

HealthIT 2020 engaged top managers from regional health authorities, chiefs of information officers, administrative stuff of hospitals and healthcare units, execuitves from primary care centers, industry stakeholders, and members of civil group  such as patients associations. The conference featured a total of 58 keynote speakers through 7 major topics.

Day 1
  • Conference commencement by  Panagiotis Marketos, Business Editor
  • Opening Note by Vassilis Kontozamanis, Deputy Minister of Health
  • Topic 1: Digital Policy for Health coordinated by Eleutherios Thiraios, General Practitioner, Director of NSS-Vari Health Center, General Secretary of the Medical Society of Athens, member of the Board of Directors of HL7
  • Topic 2: Technical solutions, applications and best practices in the service of NSS coordinated by Dimitrios Roussos, Head of Deparment of Administration and Informatics for the General Hospital of Syros
  • Topic 3: Inovative solutions in the service of patients and health professionals: Greece’s participation in exemplary European projects, initiatives and networks coordinated by Dr. Sissy Koliva from Hellenic Pasteur Institute
Day 2
  • Conference commencement by  Panagiotis Marketos, Business Editor
  • Opening notes by Grigoris Zafeiropoulos, Deputy Minister of Digital Governance; and Kostis Kagkelidis, Head of Association of Information Technology Companies of Nothern Greece
  • Topic 4: Creating new digital health services for civilians coordinated by Giorgos Diafoulas, Scientific associate of Research Committee of University of Thessaly on European Projects in digital health
  • Topic 5: Innovative technologies in the service of patients and health professionals: Access to a new paradigm of healthcare coordinated by Dr. Charalampos Karanikas, academic member of University of Thessaly
  • Topic 6: Technical solutions, applications and best practices in the service of NSS coordinated by Giorgos Kakoulidis, Head of Hellenic Health Informatics Association
  • Topic 7: GDPR and Cybersecurity coordinated by Dimitrios Zografopoulos, GDPR officer for Ministry of Health
