Prof. Dimitris Askounis is a Professor in Management Information & Decision Support Systems in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NTUA. Dr. Askounis has been involved in numerous IT research projects funded by the EU since 1988 (FP5, FP6, FP7, HORIZON2020) in the thematic areas of software development (CloudTeams, Webinos, Plugin), eGovernance (CROSSROAD, COCKPIT, LEX-IS, FEED), eBusiness interoperability (FITMAN, IMAGINE, GIC, GENESIS), Big Data management / analytics / visualization (Linda, BigDataOcean), decision support, business process modelling frameworks and standards, knowledge management, quality management, etc. Dr. Askounis has published over 100 papers in scientific journals and international conference proceedings

Dr. Christos Ntanos

Dr Christos Ntanos

Dr Christos Ntanos is a senior researcher and holds a Bachelor in Electronic and Computer Engineering, a Master in Electronic and Computer Engineering obtained at the University of Birmingham, UK, and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a PhD from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Dr Ntanos is experienced in managing ICT and cross-cutting research and implementation projects, including the coordination of ones under the Horizon 2020 programme. In this capacity, he is coordinating ChildRescue, a Horizon 2020 project, which involves NGOs from Greece and Belgium aiming to enhance the processes of locating and tracking missing children and children in migration. He has significant expertise in the design of ICT solutions and development, management, analogous and parametric estimating of IT and database systems, context awareness, risk management, Decision Support Systems, Business Process Reengineering, Knowledge Representation, eGovernment and eParticipation. He is fluent in various programming languages, including VB.NET, server-side JavaScript, C++, C#, HTML, t-SQL, php, R, constantly enriching his skills with state-of-the-art development tools and practices. He has an eleven-year experience contributing in various research and implementation projects from the managerial, as well as the design and implementation perspectives.

Mr George Doukas

Mr George Doukas

Mr George Doukas is an Electrical and Computer Engineer with an MBA in Techno-Economic Systems and an 18-year professional experience in software development, consulting and research and development projects funded by national and international sources (EC and National Operational Programmes of Greece). He is specialized in the design, development and application of methodological tools for Decision Support Systems and Monitoring & Evaluation systems, in the design and development of Web and Windows-based systems using Microsoft.NET technologies and in the design and development of relational data bases. He has excellent knowledge of Visual Basic, C#.NET, SQL, LINQ, CCS3 and HTML5 programming languages. Solid experience of working in the complete Software development life cycle involving development, documentation, testing and maintenance as well as of the processes that concern projects of information technology systems of the Greek State as well as projects of related programmes of the European Commission. Mr. Doukas has 10 years of professional experience in public sector support / capacity development, and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the EU Cohesion Policy and related instruments, acquired through his participation in projects of technical support to Operational Programmes under the Community Support Frameworks (CSF) for Greece. Within this experience, Mr. Doukas has worked for 7 years in evaluations (ex-ante, on-going, mid-term, ex post) of Operational Programmes under the CSFs for Greece, including on-going evaluation of results’ achievement, assessment of the Programmes’ Performance Indicators and proposing re-definitions for indicators and/or new indicators. Finally, Mr. Doukas possesses solid networking and communication skills acquired through participation in teams of experts for CSF projects, as well as experience in collaborating with Managing Authorities and in supporting negotiations with EC Directorates General.

Mr Pantelis Paris Natsis is an Electrical and Computer Engineer from the National Technical University of Athens. His primary areas of interest include Decision Support Systems, Management Systems and Forecasting. His final year project involved Big Data analytics for Decision Support Systems. He is has briefly worked as a software developer and is currently a PhD candidate in the Decision Support Systems’ Laboratory in the National Technical University of Athens.

Mrs. Rea Levantinou received her BSc degree in Physical Education and Sport Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2009. Following that she received her MSc degree in Exercise and Health from the University of Thessaly, Department of Physical Education and Sport Science in 2014 where she continued as research fellow in the field of Biomechanics and worked in the biomechanics lab of the university. From 2016 she has worked as a Senior Researcher and participated in the preparation of several R&D proposals of H2020, Eurostars, ENI CBC MED and other European and local funding schemes.

Mr. Panagiotis Panagiotidis is a Data Analyst and he is in technical support department of KT. He has spent the past 3 years doing data analysis for Grafima educational center and is keen to continue developing his career in the field of data analysis. His passion for data analysis led him to study at Applied Statistics MSc program (University of Piraeus). He is familiar with several data analysis software packages (Excel, SPSS, R and Python). He likes to explore the relationship between numbers and turn it into knowledge. On a personal level, he is detail oriented, organized and precise in his work. His Thesis title is: Advanced Visualization Techniques for High Dimensional Data (on Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Data in collaboration with IRi company). He has also studied Special Education at University of Nicosia.

Dr Serafeim Moustakidis

Dr Serafeim Moustakidis has wide experience in computational intelligence, machine learning and data processing with more than 12 years of research experience in various fields. His research focuses in developing novel algorithms for solving important existing and/or emerging problems. His main scientific interests cover various application fields such as Deep Learning, Big Data, Biomechanics, Bio-economy, Health, Remote Sensing, Energy Optimization, Non- Destructive Testing (NDT) and machine learning-empowered imaging. He has been involved in the technical implementation, scientific or overall management of 25 R&D projects of a total budget of 35 million Euros. Serafeim has also been active in EU proposal writing since 2010 and has managed to secure more than €9.2 million (in FP7 and Horizon2020). Dr Waqar Asif (M) is working as a Research Officer at Tech Inspire since January 2019. Earlier he has worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at City, University of London from January 2017 to December 2019. His research covers a large domain of technologies covering smart grids, the Internet of Things, BlockChain and Social Networks. His main area of work is information privacy with key focus on investigating privacy implications in terms of risk and utility of the user data. He has worked in developing multiple data anonymization approaches all of which are published in well-reputed venues. He is currently working in an EPSRC project (EP/N028155/1) where he is responsible for designing a risk vs utility approach and is also working on a Horizon 2020 project where he has devised a new way of anonymizing social network data that would help data analyst to process social network data while complying with the GDPR requirements.

Dr Indranil Ghosh Ray received a B.Sc. degree (Mathematics Honors) from the Calcutta University, in 2000, and a MCA (Master of Computer Applications) degree in 2003 from University of Kalyani. He worked in software industry for six years then as software engineer and senior software engineer. He joined Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India as Junior Research Fellow in 2010 and was promoted to Senior Research Fellow in 2013. He received a Ph.D degree in computer science from Indian Statistical Institute in 2016. He was a Research Associate with the Information Security Group, School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, City University of London, UK since June 2016. Currently he is a Research Officer at Tech Inspire, UK. She has been leading the architecture and integration work package in MUSA project (www.musa-project.eu), on multi-cloud secure applications. Eider graduated in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (Spain) and in the European Master in project management at the same university. Erkuden Rios Velasco is R&D project manager in the ICT Division of Tecnalia. She is currently coordinator of the H2020 MUSA project on multi-cloud security (www.musa-project.eu), and the coordinator of the Data Protection, Security and Privacy in Cloud Cluster of EU-funded research projects, launched by DG-CNECT in April 2015 (https://eucloudclusters.wordpress.com/data-protection-security-and-privacy-in-the-cloud/). She is specialised in trust, privacy and security engineering technologies and has worked in a number of large European and Spanish national projects on the subject such as ENACT, TACIT, RISC, ANIKETOS, SWEPT, CIPHER and SHIELDS. Erkuden is scientific coordinator of POSEIDON project on blockchain-based GDPR compliance for eGovernment services. She collaborates with Technology Platforms and Forums such as Cybersecurity PPP ECSO, AIOTI WG4 Policy and Privacy, AIOTI WS Blockchain, and the Spanish Technology Pole on Cybersecurity. Evangelos Stamatiadis has been the CIO of 5th Regional Health Authority of Central Greece since 2009. He holds a BSc in Computer Systems Engineering from Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus and an MSc in Information and Communication Systems from Open University of Cyprus. He is a Microsoft and CISCO Certified Specialist / Professional.<br /> He worked, from 1998 to 2002, as a Systems and Network Engineer in FORTHnet SA, one of the largest Internet and Communications Provider in Greece. From 2001 to 2003 he worked at the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaly assisting in the university’s NOC administration team. In 2003 he joined the 5th Regional Health Authority of Central Greece as a Computer Systems Engineer. He has been involved (design, development, implementation, supervision, administration) in a large number of ICT projects. Mr Stamatiadis has over 20 years of experience in managing large-scale, complex ICT environments, 16 of which in the health care domain. He has been the appointed national representative (drafting proposals, coordination and Steering Committees Member) in three large-scale EU projects (RENEWING HEALTH, SUSTAINS, UNITED4HEALTH). He has authored three books, a) Windows Server 2003 Administration Guide, b) Windows Computer Systems and Network Security and c) Windows Server 2008 Administration Guide, all published by the National Centre of Public Administration and Local Government where he has been teaching for 14 years. Dr Fotios Gioulekas earned the Diploma and Ph.D. Degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece in 2000 and 2007, respectively. He worked as a Research Engineer for several National, European and European Space Agency (ESA) research projects in both industry and academia. His expertise incluce Co-design and Modelling of Embedded Systems for telecommunications, space and medical applications, IoTs, Computer Networking and security and design and implementation of telecommunication systems. From 2009-2010, he was an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, University of Patras, Greece. He was also an instructor in the MSc course “Computer Engineering and Systems – Smart Systems & Internet of Things” in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the TEI of Thessaly, Greece and in the National Centre of Public Administration and Local Government. In 2011, he entered University General Hospital of Larissa, Greece as an ICT Engineer where he was responsible for the wireless and wire-line network infrastructure, the security and the interoperability among the various Information Systems, databases, technical HW/SW support-services and ICT administration. Since October 2017, he is currently an ICT Engineer at the 5th Regional Health Authority of Central Greece. He is also pursuing his postdoctoral research with the Department of Informatics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr Gioulekas has published more than 30 papers in international research journals, conferences and books and he is the principal inventor in 3 international patents. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Hellenic Stroke Organization, acting also as a reviewer for various conferences and journals. Dr Gioulekas is the WP7 leader in SPHINX project for Technology Validation Pilots and Privacy assessment.

Athanasios Tzikas

Athanasios Tzikas graduated from the Computer Engineering & Informatics Department, University of Patras, Greece in 1998 and received a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Leeds University Business School in 1999 in U.K. Mr Tzikas started his career in 2001 working as a Computer Engineer for Intracom SA company, at the R&D Dept, Thessaloniki, Greece. His duties involved the Development of secure E-payment solution through mobile devices using intelligent agent technology for European IST project. He then worked as a Database Administrator for the Computer Centre for Social Services of Greek Ministry of Labor. He has been working for the University Hospital of Larissa, Greece since 2003 as a manager of the Hospital Information System and Computer Network.<br /> Mr Tzikas was involved in a research project applying Information Retrieval and Artificial Intelligence techniques on texts, at the Katholic University (Radboud) of Nijmegen, Nijmegen, The Netherlands, in 1998. He was also a Lecturer of “Information Systems of Management” module for the School of Business and Economics, Technical Educational Institute of Larissa, Greece between 2003 and 2007. His latest research activities involve publications on Radiobiological Treatment Plan Optimization for Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University, Sweden, between 2008 and 2013 (Technology in Cancer Research and Treatment, Pubmed).

Konstantinos Gounaris

Konstantinos Gounaris graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, University of Patras, Greece in 1998. From November 2000 to May 2002, he worked for GIGA HELLAS S.A. (An Intel Company), Greece, as a Hardware Engineer. His main occupation was programming FPGAs and CPLDs to be used in reference design boards of Intel’s optical network transmission systems. From July 2002 to July 2007, he worked for Intracom Telecom, Greece, as a Hardware Engineer. His main occupation was programming FPGAs to be used in various access and transmission network systems of Intracom Telecom. In August 2007, he entered General Hospital of Volos, Greece, as an ICT Engineer. He was responsible for systems administration, network infrastructure, security and interoperability among various information systems, technical support for hardware and software, administration and support of Hospital ERP software, database administration, ICT administration. Since September 2012, he is the ICT Manager at General Hospital of Volos. Mr. Gounaris specializes in network and systems administration, data extraction and analysis, virtualization technologies, health care information systems & databases and Hospital ERP software administration.
