Mr. Fuggini is a civil engineering with a PhD on “Using Satellites Systems for Structural Monitoring: Accuracy, Uncertainty and Reliability”. During its academic period, he was also lecturer in Risk Engineering, Vulnerability and Safety Analysis of buildings and infrastructures. Mr. Fuggini is currently Manager in the Corporate Research & Development (R&D) division of RINA, responsible for the research programmes in Security, Critical Infrastructure and Resilience Engineering, as well as for the integration of research capabilities in these areas within RINA branch companies (UK in particular). In RINA he has been working on risk assessment, disaster resilience and crisis management, disaster risk reduction, critical infrastructure resilience, probabilistic and vulnerability analysis, Decision Support System (DSS), in various domains (e.g. transport, energy, health, space) and applications (e.g. Security, IoT, ICT). He has been involved in several National and International research-funded projects across. Mr. Fuggini is also the chair of Technology Area “Resilience of Critical Infrastructure” of the Integrated Mission Group for Security (IMG-S). He is member of the European Virtual Risk Institute (EU-VRI), member of the Executive Board of the Infrastructure & Mobility Committee of the European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP), member of the expert group of European Technology Platform for communications networks and services (Networld2020).Last but not least, Mr. Fuggini is author of more than 50 papers published in peer-reviewed journals, books and conference proceedings.
