Advisory Board

SPHINX is supported by a mixture of experts in cybersecurity from all over the world who have scientific and/or practical knowledge in Health-Care Industry. We believe that Advisory Board members’ expertise and experience will maximize user influence on project developments at all levels.

The role of the Advisory Board is to consult members of projects (ongoing and finished) in surveillance, wide zones protection and impact assessment of security systems.

Meet the Expert Advisory Board

Clemente Fuggini

Mr. Fuggini is a civil engineering with a PhD on “Using Satellites Systems for Structural Monitoring: Accuracy, Uncertainty and Reliability”. During its academic period, he was also lecturer in Risk Engineering, Vulnerability and Safety Analysis of buildings and infrastructures. Mr. Fuggini is currently Manager in the Corporate Research & Development (R&D) division of RINA, responsible for the research programmes in Security, Critical Infrastructure and Resilience Engineering, as well as for the integration of research capabilities in these areas within RINA branch companies (UK in particular). In RINA he has been working on risk assessment, disaster resilience and crisis management, disaster risk reduction, critical infrastructure resilience, probabilistic and vulnerability analysis, Decision Support System (DSS), in various domains (e.g. transport, energy, health, space) and applications (e.g. Security, IoT, ICT). He has been involved in several National and International research-funded projects across. Mr. Fuggini is also the chair of Technology Area “Resilience of Critical Infrastructure” of the Integrated Mission Group for Security (IMG-S). He is member of the European Virtual Risk Institute (EU-VRI), member of the Executive Board of the Infrastructure & Mobility Committee of the European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP), member of the expert group of European Technology Platform for communications networks and services (Networld2020).Last but not least, Mr. Fuggini is author of more than 50 papers published in peer-reviewed journals, books and conference proceedings.

Evgenia Nikolouzou

Dr Evgenia Nikolouzou’s work at the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) mainly focuses on recommendations supporting the implementation of the eIDAS Regulation, contribution to policy related issues in the area of electronic communications sector and ICT security certification framework for products and services. She received a Dipl.-Ing. and a Ph.D in 2003 in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and was for 5 years a research associate in the Telecommunications laboratory, performing research in internet architectures and related security and performance evaluation aspects. She has participated in several European Union and national projects and was a lecturer on many postgraduate courses in the areas of Internet Technologies, and Secure and Dependable Computing. Prior to joining ENISA, Evgenia worked at Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy for over 10 years, as Head of the Internet Application Department. She has published several international papers and journals and is a reviewer in some international journals/conferences. Since 2007 she is contributing as evaluator and reviewer to EU Commission<br />

Olga Alexandra Schupak

Olga A. Schupak is an advisor for innovative technological start-ups on go-to-market strategy and maturity acceleration, with the strong focus on (cyber)security solutions. She holds a MSc degree in Computer Science and has been involved in ICT and innovations for over 15 years. She gained experience in the field of B2C, B2B and has a special attention to smart technologies, such as blockchain and artificial intelligence. Her work entails technology advisory and implementations in the EMEA zone. Olga has the unique capability to understand propositions from a commercial, market and technical angle of view; she recently accelerated various foreign initiatives by introducing them in the European market. By leveraging the tech orientation of the various industry sectors involved, her advises allow companies to access opportunities and related impact very adequately. ‘Never stop learning’ is her motto, this is reflected in her up to date knowledge and approach.

Vasileios Vlachos

Dr. Vasileios Vlachos is an Assistant Professor at the University of Thessaly. He holds a Diploma of Engineering in Electronic & Computer Engineering from Technical University of Crete, an MSc in Integrated Hardware and Software Systems from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras and a PhD in Information Systems Security from the Department of Management Science and Technology of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is a Senior Researcher at the Computer Technology Institute and Press ``Diophantus`` (C.T.I.) of Patras, Greece participating in various national and EU funded research projects. Dr. Vasileios Vlachos has coauthored peer reviewed scientific journals, chapters in scientific books and more than 40 publications in international peer reviewed conferences. He was an invited speaker in more than 90 workshops and national conferences. Dr. Vlachos is a reviewer in several international scientific journals and conferences and has also organized, moderated and coordinated successful academic, scientific and professional conferences. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Greek Free/Open Source Software Society (GFOSS), member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association of Computer Engineers (HACE), member of the Board of Directors of the Greek Computer Society (GCS) and Deputy Director of the Greek Chapter of the OWASP. He has also served as special adviser and technical expert at the Digital Awareness and Response to Threats (DART) team of the Special Secretariat for Digital Planning of the Hellenic Ministry of Economy and Finance.
